As a youth I observed U.S. Atlases marked as DANGER ZONES in red circles from nuclear testing in the west, always beside American Indian sacred land that ended up as scary zones for radioactive nuclear testing and its fall out. Even underground testing leaks cancer-causing toxicants that also caused cancer in wildlife and domestic animals as well as inhuman beings. Milk was contaminated from one generaiion to another. Childhood cancer is also rampant on Indian land used as as "WASTELANDS" for contaminated nuclear residue. These reservations have been the "down winders" for decades. But who cares in a world of indifference for the original people as the federal government has a history of genocide among people once considered the enemy and targeted for extermination? This happened in the 1970s when Senator James Abourezk exposed before Congress that the CIA was respnsible for sterilizing Ameican Indians and Puerto Ricans when when were admitted to American hospitals.
Indigenous wastelands of genocidal deaths have killed First Americans with toxic material as the people still live on sick land considered "Alien Territory." The people continue tol bear the brunt and burden of nuclear radiation. They are the forgotten recipients of U.S. nuclear testing and uranium poisoning on their last original land.
Nevada's Yucca Mountain has guards that will shoot and kill anyone foolish enough to trespass on this mountain wasteland, a title of T. S. Eliot's poem. Nuclear energy is now on the way out where the door will soon shut in favor of sun energy that is free and forevermore. Safe solar panels are replacing constant fear of nuclear accidents.
Now the North Korean people are going through the same hazards as American Indians, from all the nuclear testing and toxic missiles sent into the atmosphere as man-made nuclear testing goes around Earth, our only homeland. The first Korean War is still up in the air since it was never settled. The fire ceased but there was no peace treaty. And the North Koreans broke the Amstice.
