Originally these two cultures were classified as "blacks" along with Jews and Italians with darker complexion than the so-called "pure white'' supremacists. My ancestry was WASP. West displayed signs reading NO INJUNS ALLOWED. And elitist country clubs banned any person having dark skin. I can name a few places in western Pennsylvania.
