As one of the main forces in the difficult victory during the 1944 invasion of Normandy to free Paris from the evil clutches of Nazi Germany, Eisenhower in his later more mature years recognized the danger in contemporary warfare continuing to accumulate toxic, radioactive emissions producing climate changing weather that is destroying Earth's environment for everyone. Serial criminal wars are the worst carbon producers and gas guzzlers in the world.
As a result, the only ones who profit are corporate government industrial weapons manufacturers, who also are the victims of their own cancerous chemical poisons and toxicants such as Agent Orange. War certainly does not benefit the combatant whose lives are sacrificed on modern-day burnt-offering killing fields. These archaic alters to appease the gods are controlled by leaders in high places claiming that their god told them to go to war. This is a a war-torn ruse to get on the flag-waving band-wagon of death.
In any war economy this scenario is typical, with heartbroken, grieving parents and families put through the wringer of mock patriotism that Mark Twain called bumpkin.
In the meantime, what happened to the good Republican Party of Eisenhower's days? Today the fundamentalist tea party mentality has set its teeth into condemning all the good that the Obama Administration has done, especially by keeping campaign promises for no combat boots on ground, although no aggressive war activity is condoned in the minds of those sacrificing their own children. A Republican Congress has stifled progress for the American people.
Furthermore, President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry share the same wisdom as former President Eisenhower advocating diplomacy and understanding instead of corporate profit-making weaponry when it comes to stopping nuclear bomb missiles in Iran. Now, the world needs to stop nations from already having "the bomb" and using it for threatening purposes, that can become reality. All nations must start eliminating nuclear bombs all together for equality of human rights across the board game of war. The world's greatest fear isn't nuclear bombs that are illegal since they are genocidal. Cyber wars are the most widespread threat.
And don't forget the present leaders freed Cuba from decades of an embargo that resulted in no good whatsoever.
