GOD'S OF MAN HAVE DARK COMPLEXIONS

Dear Ones,

Time for better understanding of term race since it still incites hatred and wars.

The familiar saying, "Tall, dark and handsome"–an early European 19th century adage refers to women as well as men. Such a contradiction of bigots crazed by hatred of people having more protective pigment than themselves is transparently jealous by this very statement.  From time memorial the worst serial crime in the world is war, especially incited against human beings called "colors"–adjectives, not nouns. This stigmatism stems back to primitive times prior to knowledge about the equator being the hottest belt around Earth where human life began with resulting complexions dark from intense sun rays after centuries of exposure.  It takes about 20,000 years of living in the tropics for permanent dark skin to become part of DNA, and vice-versa as people moved away to different areas.
In my observation of bigotry against people of darker complexions instigators of hatred and ethnic wars worship deities having variations of dark skin–a fact boldly emphasized.  These prophets and wisdom keepers include Buddha, Jesus, Mohammad, as well as Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Dr. Martin Luther King,  Jr., the Dali Lama, Mother Teresa and Amma from India, the latter famous for her caring world-wide hugs. The ironies of life do not get any more paradoxical than this–people persecuting people for their pigmented complexion while at the same time revering their gods and heroes of deep variations of pigment!
Human color-coding rages on ever since German, Johann Friedrich Blumenbach,  "father of color-coded racism," in 1779 devised a hierarchical classification of skin differences with so-called "white" on top and so-called "black" (early code for slave) on the lowest rung. Nazi Germany attempted to justify its genocidal holocaust–the same system used against America's first people in bondage–through invention of a warlord classification devised by this man.
Society has gotten over red and yellow skin, but the most rival tones of complexion are black and white still dividing humanity into warring tribes. It is obvious that no one has black, red, white or yellow complexion, a farce from its very beginning. I'm surprised no comedy show has ever had a skit of people with these unnatural paint colors. So far no one has picked upon this ludicrous identity of people in an exaggerated parody. The marketing of cosmetics only uses variations of the tone brown, which is now in vogue.  This is fortunate for numerous reasons, especially since people of the future, now that they can breed among different nationalities, will all have one similar complexion, a leveling value.   What then will people call themselves?  And what will they say when their children ask why they are still segregated and physically profiled as rival "blacks" and "whites" when all humanity's skin is one shade?  Every time a person calls another person a "black" or a "white," it only provokes more physically profiling.
Nobel Laureate and Pulitzer prize Laureate, Pearl Buck, known for her book, The Good Earth, chided Americans for calling Asians yellow.  The color-coding league no longer targets red complexions, although Washington D.C.'s football team refuses to change its name, "The Redskins." This degrading outmoded word for a sport team's tribal mascot is illicit since it violates the law for logo decency.
Only those having albinism reflect white skin. Tans are common for sun-worshippers but only temporarily. All our palms and soles of our feet are light in hue from lack of exposure to the sun over centuries of evolution. Yet people were lynched and persecuted in spite of this natural phenomenon of nature–brought through evolution before humans began to stand!
In retrospect, knowing that complexion will be the same for everyone someday, this shameful history makes faces and necks turn red, literally. Brown skin is dominant over light skin according to the science of genetics. We are all one people, many who go to beaches to acquire deeper complexions admired as  "beautiful tans." So why not fast forward to be ready for the future?
Is there any reason why we should not erase race since the "word race" started in ancient Roman coliseums where slaves were raced to their deaths in chariot races under four rival colors?  This rival sports habit of color-coding humanity was carried over from Blumenbach's hierarchy of divisive, insidious racism–alliteration at its worst.
Dark complexioned First Americans from the Americas–North, Middle and South–are the real founders of the Western Hemisphere. They explored the continent thousands of years ago and still advocate protection for the greening of Earth, our only sustenance–reason enough for electing well-qualified traditionalist Americans for public office–America's original culture and spirituality–First Nations in one Nation–originally pegged red.
Even extraterrestrial beings from outer space are imagined the color green or gray, even though no one has seen any space aliens. Color-coding human beings has brought nothing  good to the world.  The sooner we get over our fixation of skin color to separate one another, the happier we will be.  We will also be safer, since color-coding triggers youth-killing, child deforming wars of torture through lethal munitions that in turn set off earthquakes that trigger volcanic eruptions that cause tsunamis–all in a gun shell called war.

"White’ people send ‘black people’ to fight ‘yellow people’ to protect the country they stole from ‘red people.’ "

–Gerome Ragni/James Rado, from Broadway musical, "Hair"

"There is no safety in war."–Virgil, born in 70 BCE

DANGEROUS ZONES

Dear Ones,

Good the people of Earth are so concerned over one another in a world of diverse problems on land, sea and air.  May we keep up this compassion for others.  Any good deed gives happiness to all those concerned.

Meanwhile, history is still recording the dangerous zones of Earth, capitlaized for respect.

DANGEROUS WAR ZONES!
–Earth's Greatest Enemy

Sophocles–Greek playwright of tragedies–wrote, “War loves to seek its victims in the young." Aggression also steals other people's sovereign lands. The following essay is written to share broader knowledge gleaned from sixty years of in-depth research on centuries of accumulative lethal munitions–what the media often squelches for military political power in taking over land, not for benefit of Indians and ranchers who knew they were sick from the contamination, but for local tourists passing through their lands.
Government proving grounds–over 1000 atomic bomb explosions from US toxicants–result in sterile craters on Earth.  Malformed, maimed children suffer the longest period of time under the carbon boot of war–unless their mutilated bodies are aborted–a sad scenario of the lives of many traditionalist First Americans living on the last remnants of their land, now contaminated in many areas from industrial war activity along reservation borders and within the territories as well. Deceit of land confiscation through "eminent domain" has less clout than treaty, the highest law of the land with over 400 US treaties broken against First American nations.
Reservation uranium, coal, gas, and other natural resources are stolen from indigenous people for war purposes in the "Land of the free"–for some and not for others. National aggression continues to take its toll in poverty and ill health from devastating  industrial wars and their waste.
Years ago the US Army incarcerated and forced indigenous people to remain on their own land that the unelected Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) took over, against Constitutional rights, to keep the original owners separate from colonial immigrant settlers–out of sight, out of mind. This atrocity resulted in growing numbers of “Indians" persecuted with birth defects for being in the way from theft of their own native land. (see Conquest, by Andrea Smith).
The nation's first biological warfare was used against First Americans. This violation occurred when British and American 18th century officials presented them with  infected blankets from smallpox hospitals as "gifts" for extermination. Besides attempted extinction of American bison, their mainstay, nuclear age testing of atomic bombs near their last sovereign territories was the next step in intentional genocide. Infiltrated lands are soaked in toxic radiation and an atmosphere polluted with poisonous emissions. Lands bordering reservations were marked in atlases for years as DANGER ZONES. Residents trapped in modern warfare were at risk of sterility from lethal explosives and from handling uranium in mines or being close to mutating birth defecting munitions.
The next blow was feds targeting reservations for dumping hazardous chemical and radioactive waste. Nuclear waste products include raffinate–fertilizer used o indigenous people. Then when the original people thought all the decimation and genocide was over–leaving less than two percent traditionalists within the United States–more tragedy struck them in the 1960s and 70s. The federal government prevented "Indian" women from having children without their knowledge. Whenever First Americans were admitted to hospitals for whatever reason, under the Health, Education and Welfare (HEW) program, they were sterilized. This ethnic organized "ethnic cleansing" was disclosed by "Indian" doctors and a study of “red” nation women called WARN, later exposed by Senator James Abourezk to Congress. Puerto Rican women were victims, too, sterilized in Hartford and New Haven, Connecticut hospitals. Dark complexioned women were also given experimental birth control pills before they were safe for the public.
While investigating a pesticide poisoning on First Nations alnd I stood with the son of a traditionalist American Indian chief on his Western property.  He told me his land was made sterile by the chemicals from the BIA in the Department of the Interior–what lead to toxic reactions documented with photos after a sacred ritual (see The Shoshone-Bannock Sundance Poisoning, involving cancerous chemicals and raffinate.) I was intimidated in my research by the chemical producer of this agent from eastern United States when I contacted him.
Nevertheless, I continued my work by contacting the EPA. They told me there was nothing detrimental with the chemicals. After a delay of about 20 years the BIA sent  me a letter with the same result.  But I deduced in the beginning of my investigation the agent was poisonous to humans and animals. In recent years Tennessee has documented similar environmental problems with the same detrimental pesticide. Many others as well are being uncovered in alarming rates, especially with bee colonies dying out, what is quintessential for agriculture.  The EPA after all this time finally admits that the pesticide is highly toxic and cancerous, causing blisters and headaches just as First Nation residents told me and showed me–with photographs proving the toxicity of the chemical used on indigenous lands harming all life.
During WWI and II Nazi-invented nerve gases were used as chemical warfare internationally, with surplus made for commercial pesticides in the aftermath. As a result Parkinson's, Lou Gehrig's and Hodgkin's diseases plague Earth as well as war carcinogens, with soldiers affected in alarming numbers from pesticide and herbicide fumigants as well as brain trauma from abusive combat.
Deadly dioxin herbicide, Agent Orange, was first used against American "Indians" and later sprayed during the Vietnam War that caused defoliated vegetation and death to human beings and all life. Lethal fallout from both Gulf wars caused Vietnam sickness among soldiers in contact with this toxicant, covered up for years. During that time the US government secretly and illegally bombed Cambodia and Laos–denied by authoritarians for decades. During that war the carpet-bombing covered Laos from 1964-1973, when the army pulled out. Pilots dropped millions of cluster bomblets on citizens, 98% of the population, mostly kids–killed and maimed–30,000 casualties with more than 20,000 more from unexploded munitions during the aftermath. This diabolical onslaught, in an undeveloped nation that war disgraced with abject poverty, is documented as "the most bombed country in world history." Holocausts come in all sizes. Besides the tragedy of innocent people massacred, it cost American taxpayers billions.  Laos, cursed by the targeted bombed-out Ho Chi Minh Trail running through it, is still under siege by thousands of un-detonated, bomblets blowing off limbs and blinding youths.
An all-woman team continues to clean up devastation after forty years, with loss of limbs and eyesight a regular tragedy whenever anyone steps on one of the live ammunition that had burst out of shattered shells–particularly amongcurious kids.  (Henry Shrapnel invented shrapnel in 1784, although an early form was used in the 1400s in Constantinople.) This demonic ammunition still causes excruciating military and civilian suffering, escalating to supersonic radioactive missiles. There is so much war debris left over in Laos that bomb metal is still supplying a national recycling industry!
On the same trail the US Army seeded clouds to prolong the monsoon season to stop Vietnam War opposition supplies from getting through to the lines.  Now micro-magnetic manipulation of the weather through climate warfare has the potential of destroying economies of nations, with imperialistic global weather going out of control in an attempt to own the atmosphere and play god–changed freakish weather. In the meantime, lethal chemicals and radioactive munitions as well as climate warfare being illicit, continue to plaque the globe.
Government-hired nuclear physicists working on the Manhattan Project opposed use of nuclear bomb warfare. American and British military officials said "it was not necessary to drop nuclear bombs on Japan," already defeated with 200,000 carpet bomb deaths added to 180,000 dead civilians from bombs that President Truman called "gadgets." Meanwhile, seven H-bombs were haphazardly dropped into hot ocean water, among lost radioactive submarines and outdated ones intentionally dumped into seas and all leaking hot munitions.
The First Persian Gulf War when Iraq attacked Iran (1980-88) with US weaponry and intelligence given to Saddam Hussein, was the most incriminating chemical raid in Earth's history. (Iraq's arsenal held imported sarin nerve gas.) During these invasions, attacks, and occupations of Iraq 500,000 children died from sanctions that make citizens suffer. Matt Taibbi, journalist for Rolling Stone Magazine, wrote, "Who has the right to make any child starve in war?"
When first soldiers returned from the second Persian Gulf War, what the military 2003 called "shock and awe"–electrifying disaster that jarred and distressed the entire world–I was asked to take part in a fife and drum trio in a service honoring severely wounded veterans for life. Not one eye was dry when two young honored veterans walked to the pulpit to share their experiences. During a reception in the church basement we met the wounded. When I shook the hand of the youngest one, it felt like the hand of a kid. He was blind and one of his legs had been ripped off from combat. Later I went to see how he was doing. When I inquired which house was his, a village resident sobbed "Oh, Danny hanged himself."
From ghostly shadows another sad memory flashed before my eyes.  My husband and I were dining out in 1992 when a group of young men watching TV in an adjacent bar cheered loudly.  The US was invading Iraq during Operation Desert Storm.  Tears ran down my face.  I knew friends that never came back from Vietnam and Korea. Yet I still have my Junior Commandoes blue and white eagle badge from WWII, continuation of WWI conflagration–the second global man-made atrocity, what I supported as a youth.  When I was a child, I thought like a child, but as a woman my outlook on life changed.
Meanwhile my childhood friends and I had gathered rags, newspapers, bacon grease and milkweed pods, the latter for navy lifejackets. We also planted victory gardens which were productive and needed especially for today in the form of unadulterated food. Scrap metal was useful, but for the most part all the piles of war goods collected for morale boosters "went overboard" as organized pollution. We later learned this activity was mostly for psychological and patriotic purposes of war propaganda.
But getting back to the young men laughing and exalting over war in the bar, they had no idea some of their buddies in Greensburg, Pennsylvania would never come back–over 30 wounded and 13 killed while purifying water when a bomb landed on them, the 14th Quartermaster Detachment–the worse collective US tragedy of its kind in that war.
In those years US-led troops in Baghdad and Fallujah, Iraq sprayed kids and adults with dangerous white phosphorus ("white pete") that burns, as does burn-to-the bone napalm. "Depleted" uranium  (DU) was also used to dispose of nuclear war waste.  This irradiated contaminant made into bullets powerful enough to blowholes in tanks, also aborts and deforms babies in mothers wombs through mutated, damaged genetic DNA, as "spent" congenital ammunition keeps killing one generation to the next. Diabolical brews of chemical child-deforming toxicants causing millions of deaths sprayed from helicopters over Iraq and Afghanistan were committed against countries that never attacked the United States. Violations of the 1899 Hague Declaration Concerning Asphyxiating Gasses and the 1907 Hague Convention on Land Warfare is still an abomination. These poisons the Geneva Protocol had outlawed in 1925, and again in 1993.
The world's largest outdoor concentration zone is the Gaza Strip where Palestinians are confined on their own land–ancient Semitic Palestine, later a death camp, with sanctions oppressing nations for material gains as children are again the first to die. Nefarious aggression never helped any war-torn, occupied country whose inhabitants grieve and endure results of burnt offering mindsets. Even today politicians take pride in soldiers "sacrificing young lives" on battlefield alters–a carry over from ancient youth sacraments–burnt offerings–to appease the gods. Many of the committers of youth-killing wars never experience "contaminated boots on the ground"–anguish from blowback winds of fire.
During present urban street warfare outlawed by International Court, International Criminal Court (ICC founded in 2002), and the Convention for Children's Rights, kids especially from underdeveloped nations are killed, starved or end up as refugees.
Besides war, America's number one killer is now suicide, a byproduct of war.  Modern wars not only maim and kill combat soldiers, but also those manning robotic drones from centers out of harms way.  Military personal, too, commit suicide after witnessing on cold computer monitors piles of butchered human flesh.
Young people very early became war fodder on battlefields for hawkish warlords. So stressed out by combat nightmares, soldiers also take their own lives. Drone warfare may be keeping flame-flowing wars down to a roar, but they prolong aggression resulting from failure to negotiate. All ammunition brings great sorrow and grief to families left in the toxic smoke. Einstein called aggression "murder under the cloak of war"–that spreads terrorism, violence and generations of revenge.
Women in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and Iran have been traumatized by endless war. They are afraid to get pregnant, as well as combat mothers in America and other combatant nations. Bob Dylan wrote profound lyrics for his song Masters of War,

"You've thrown the worst fear that can ever be hurled, fear to bring children into the world–for threatening my baby unborn and unnamed, you ain't worth the blood that runs in your veins."

Aborted genocide deformities is now a pandemic of atrocities during satanic prolongation of war.  War is the world's worst serial killer–infants with contorted bodies; disfigured faces; missing eyes, arms and legs, and even having two-heads–caused by draconian munitions and poisonous emissions. Damaged ecology also produces two-headed, multiple legged frogs. In combat where fathers and sons are killed, the women giving birth at home are left to bury their babies–with no statistical records. Young people have always been the brunt of brutality. The US is also the largest supplier of torture devices and incarcerates more people–often from racial discrepancies–than any other nation as it builds more prisons than schools.
Political protesters and whistle-blowers exposing historical abuse are hunted down like animals, civil rights activists striving for the sanity of equality, such as Wounded Knee II American Indian Leonard Peltier, whom the feds illegally imprisoned for over 37 year and never given pardon. Assata Shakur, an African woman also incarcerated, is a freedom fighter against government persecution and empowerment, plus all present heroes exposing wrongdoing.
Fanatical extremists continue to kill one another in an Abrahamic circle-of-contamination, on-going revenge among three original Semitic religions slaying their own family's sons and daughters. They are all related to each other, many to Jesus of Nazareth in Israel.  Jesus who loved children walked on the road to Damascus in Syria as slaughtered embattling youths are now wasted on the same streets of the city.
Besides foreign cities bombed to the ground, US armed forces has over 5000 leaking, polluted military bases costing trillions to build and maintain–the reason why New York and Washington, DC were bombed September 11, 2001, a tragedy that led to the killing of millions of lives.  Although the warning was announced on worldwide TV, the new administration ignored the warning.
In a gun shell, in the game of folly, industrial corporate military bases contaminate worldwide. Hanford, Washington is the largest nuclear waste dump of the Americas. As I write, it is in danger of contaminating the Columbia River and Oregon as well.  Some authorities fear explosion. Irresponsible, reckless men continue to command primitive slaughter instead of peace negotiations through enforcement and punitive measures for International Law already in force–but not enforced.
Both the US and USSR maintained sarin gas ammunition in the Cold War, in an export, import market of lethal trade. The oldest dump of this kind is the Rocky Mountain Repository in Denver, Colorado where wells were drilled in unstable rock–what caused multiple earthquakes, as it happens with "fracturing"–euphemism for drilling natural gas in shale with lethal chemicals polluting water. Industrial war exporters of "chiller theater" chemicals are bad actors in the theater of war, staged by world-wide factories spewing out black cloud emissions daily. Accumulative hot war explosives cause earthquakes in turn triggering volcanoes and tsunamis, with "daughter" Krakakoa in Indonesia ready to erupt again after the 1883 holocaust causing deaths of thousands of people.
Today between deadly toxicants of radioactive and chemical war munitions and their deadly waste contaminating a war-torn Earth–we exuberantly sing our national anthem and wave our star-spangled banner. So proudly we hail rockets, red glares bursting in air. Marching and conquering we must, for lies of leaders we trust, and sing praise for war crime carnage–all committed in “God’s name.” I love America and its people, but corrupt politicians drag the US down to its knees.  The vast Roman Empire ceased from its military sending most of its treasury that circled the drain and made a waterfalls out of it.
Moses conveyed a command–“Thou shalt not kill.” Jihad has two meanings, a struggle that also denotes killing. But Muhammad in the Quran refers to the most humane meaning of jihad–"the spiritual conquest of the self." Gandhi expressed this universal truth in his own way, “The only devils are in our hearts, and that’s where the real battles must be fought"–to quell immoral madness of men. Unfortunately radical religionists twist wisdom of prophets into excuses for retaliation in the form of endless war pollution. Abraham Lincoln said, "I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends."
Great world American Indian prophets. Buddha, Jesus from Nazareth, Mohammed, the Dali Llama are worshipped as heroes. Mother Teresa from Macedonia and Amma, "Mother of India" with her universal hug are also adored by the world. Great men such as Mohandas Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Dali Lama and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are worshipped as top world's leaders. These so-called people of dark complexioned represent non-violent peace-makers. Buddha, Confucius, and Jesus taught the world's most powerful defense for peace–"Do not do unto others what you don't want others to do to you," as Jesus said, "Blessed are the peace-makers.  People in power who actual bring about international peace will be the real everlasting saviors of Mother Earth, capitalized for respect.  And by the way, why aren't any First Americans being primed for a future US president since indigenous people care so much for nature and ecology?
The world is still anguishing for relief from war ammo that causes birth defect embryos passed from parent to child. There's an old axiom that questions, "Why not pick on someone your own age?" –also referring to youths sacrificing their lives for political leaders' gain. Alfred, Lord Tennyson's wishful thinking for the end of international aggression is best expressed–"Till the war drum throbs no longer, and battle flags are furled." Sadly militant destructive forces have turned our planet into a blazing DANGER ZONE of Death!  War is a four-lettered word called gory, not glory.
So what is the verdict?  Do we sit down and sizzle in deadly carnage and toxic industrial war emissions? We may run, but toxic emissions will always catch us–at sea, in the air, and on land–unless we all together stand our ground on Earth, our only sustenance, to protect the only planet we know of having life.  Virgil, born in 70 BCE wrote, "There is no safety in war."

“The innocence of youth dies quickly, when killing becomes a right of passage . . . to be killed, and maimed and driven crazy by war . . . bumper-sticker bravado with word but not deed is intoxicated by war’s hysteria from a safe distance.”–

–courtesy of Camillo “Mac” Bica, poet, professor of philosophy, Marine member of Vietnam Veterans Against the War

"Among things we teach the young are truths–the value of the individual and dignity of all people . . . and the futility and stupidity of war, mankind's' most tragic folly.  The world is spending the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is [the same price of] a modern brick school in more than 30 cities!"

PEACE PROPOSAL FOR US CONGRESS AND UNITED NATIONS

Dear  Ones,

Today's a beautiful day outside my window.  It's a great time for international harmony,  Obviously praying for peace doesn't work in a world where man has a penchant for wars.  Nevertheless, as futile as it is, here is my peace proposal,

Mame

Peace Proposal for US Senate and United Nations

CURE FOR MOST TOXIC SERIAL KILLER OF ALL–WAR

Revenge is a circle of flaming anger. We live in a world of futile aggression and bombing against global non-combatant citizens–children, men and women who also have to endure cruel sanctions that cause hunger, disease and poverty. Meanwhile the committors of war brutality dine on surf and turf–rogue killers ecologically polluting with nuclear dump and run waste. Corporate trafficking and exporting of already illegal, genocidal nuclear, chemical and biological warfare result in Earth-shaking, earthquake-causing explosions leading to hot-erupting volcanoes that trigger tsunamies. All this gross suffering, pain and poverty bashing  humanity, animals and our Earth adds up to barbaric slaughter no one wants.

                            THE CURE

For every nation there is quintessential need for well-paid professional arbitrators, diplomats, language interpreters, historians of foreign cultures and keepers of concord whose sole responsibility is to negotiate and arbitrate with the opposition–to find out “what the beef’s all about.” It takes an entire Peace Defense Department to communicate for check and balance against War Departments that bring no defense. Virgil, born in 70 BCE knew before the common era, "There is no safety in war."  Albert Einstein said murder hides behind the cloak of war.  Because an administration that refused to talk and ignored the threat that if the army did not remove its toxic leaking military bases off of Saudi Arabian land, something terrible would happen to America–the atrocity of September 11, 200l announced in a silent TV crawl worldwide.  Despite the powerful arsenals of the world, no nation can stop surprise attack, especially with individual suicide bombers in huge crowds.  Cause in point–all the stored firepower in the world did not prevent the 9-ll attack.

These invaluable service forces would have uniforms that would also provide display rewards of service–ribbons, medals, epaulettes Courageous service forces in international peace departments would deserve uniforms and rewards–ribbons, medals, epaulettes and insignia for protecting home bases against nature's freak storms, floods and disasters increasing with climate warfare.  Brave men and women peace department members would also warrant the salute for their prevention of international wars. They would receive the same perks as the military. No jobs would be lost for instead of risking their lives in combat service forces the new employees would be enjoying happiness in knowing that they are saving lives instead of being trained to kill. There would be no sacrificial battleground burnt offerings reminiscent of archaic rituals to the gods or cover-up of soldiers, war correspondents and photographers trapped in crossfire on urban battlegrounds illegal under International Law since these war zones are where children play and adults work and shop.

This sole responsibility in one department would not only wean warmongers off aggression but would also bring harmony among nations, far less expensive than extravagant wars causing trillions. This progress would free up more than enough funds to provide free unbiased college, health care and internal needs for all nations, instead of acquiring an education after combat with many soldiers too handicapped to go to school due to life-long head injuries and psychological trauma that often result in committing suicide from horrifying nightmares of bloody corpses, even among drone operators. Eighteen soldier suicides a day are taking their lives, now reaching alarming levels, with war causing the most US deaths today.

Enforcing laws already ratified against chemical and radioactive munitions would make all nations accountable without exceptions for their violence of terrorist wars that provoke the most lethal gas-guzzling, petroleum contaminating, CO2 carbon corporate war-economy hell-bent for ill-gotten spoils from youth-killing, baby-deforming aggression–the scourge of the world. Government funding for alternative energy and sincere research would harness the sun that has enough free energy to fuel the globe, as well as wind, water and ocean power.

The vast Roman Empire fell due to its obsession with military power sucking up most of the treasury.

“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”–Proverbs 16:18 . . .”With humility comes wisdom.”–11:2

“Good-natured [young] men with murderous weapons in their hands . . . will march, freeze, hunger, suffer sickness and die from it, or finally  . . . will be slain by the thousands or kill thousands themselves with no reason; men whom they have never seen before, and who neither have done nor could do them any mischief . . .  and soon the men who reaped profit from it all will assert that since there has been a war there must needs have been one, and that other wars must follow, and they will again prepare future generations for a continuance of slaughter, depraving them from their birth.

HUMAN RIGHT IS THE RIGHT TO KNOW

Dear Ones,

Something happened to my last blog.  So here's another try,

Mame
HUMAN RIGHT IS THE RIGHT TO KNOW
–Transparency is the Best Foreign Policy

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”–Benjamin Franklin

Suddenly along the Nile Delta overlooking the sea appeared a flashback scene of blazing flames before my internal eyes–the accursed crime against Egypt’s Royal Library of Alexandria, the pearl of the Mediterranean, a city named for Macedonian King Alexander.  It was a priceless treasure, a repository stored in its honeycombed walls now spewed forth ashes of world knowledge–works of art, history, pagan and new world religions, medical research, philosophy, original plays and enlightenment all going up in smoke. Lost science included details of the Earth being round (later determined oval by Isaac Newton through shadows of the moon). This precious library was built in 323 BCE to hold every ancient book on Earth, capitalized for respect–over 700,000 scrolls, the largest collection of world knowledge ever cataloged. Religious fanatics burned it down along with one-of-a-kind papyrus books during the reign of Roman Emperor Theodosius I (375-395 CE). This meant the entire Roman Empire tainted with intolerance and intimidation at the threat of death. Such nefarious action later continued in the bloody Crusades (meaning cross) and torturous Inquisition with its murderous militant tribunal and “Holy” office still active under a euphemistic term to censor books and condemn to Hell all faiths accept one, a crime in itself.  Jesus of Nazareth, Israel, knew nothing about this new religion that after his death was founded by Paul at Antioch in Asia Minor, now Turkey.  He was a Pharisee who persecuted the Nazarene of Galilee–Jesus–a humble man who preached love, respect, compassion for children, and caring for others. Jesus did not strike people as needing to possess world power and control as Paul’s fundamentalist hierarchy did–his later-day followers wearing four-foot hats, miters, tooled out of stolen gold from indigenous peoples of the Americas.
The old library at Alexandria was open to all scholars in BCE, quite the opposite of present day fascist control of corporate profiteers squelching quintessential research material and freedom of information that conveys truth to the public. Hopefully the new Egyptian library will not be under political control and will not stifle the right to know. In 1995 (stalled by the Persian Gulf, Desert Storm Iraqi war of 199l), this solar glass-roofed library in Alexandria was built in great splendor to include reading rooms, a planetarium, a hall for the blind, and a science museum. This gem, the Bibliotheca of Alexandria erected next to the city’s university by that name, is a beacon of hope–as poet Percy Bysshe Shelly wrote “for profound, compassion and conception of man and nature.” According to President Hosni Mubarak this new jewel “is a gift to mankind that will enrich the past, the present and the future . . . for understanding, co-operation, peace and security because this is what makes our children smile.” Mubarak in Egypt was sentenced to life in prison for not intervening to protect protestors from being killed during his regime. Historically this punitive measure brings to mind an atrocity of 77 state National Guardsmen aiming at and killing four unarmed non-violent protestors against the Vietnam War on the campus of Kent State in America in 1970–with no punishment dealt to any officials responsible for the disaster–not just the offense of complicity as was with Mubarak.  No matter how many world objectors are killed, slaughtering innocent peaceful demonstrators against war is serious, serial crime.
The burning of the great library at Alexandria also brings to mind the madness of controlling, corporate, self-seeking Oil on the Brain (an old song)-mentality causing the second Iraqi Bush war in 2003. Military leaders illegally scorched and burned entire cities in Iraq, along with libraries and museums trashed and looted through demented “shock and awe” strategy. This treasured cradle of world civilization–Mesopotamia–includes Iraq within the Tigris Euphrates Valley.  Troops were ordered to not only illegally devastate urban areas, what meant residents and animals in Baghdad and elsewhere (with other citizens fleeing to refugee camps), but the outrageous carpet attacks, one after another, of nuclear missiles that also destroyed world renown historic architecture, priceless artifacts, ancient scrolls, statues, art and culture. But far worse, non-combatants and enemy soldiers (allied soldiers also damaged by toxic burning fumes in their lungs) were doused with white phosphorus and napalm that burn to the bone–allies who crushed Fallajah in a major US assault, a serial crime against humanity.
The world should know Iranians in the Iraqi-Iranian war (1980-88) and those in Kuwait were killed with genocidal biological and chemical warfare sold to Iraq, too, with the major amount exported from the United States labs in a “witch’s brew” including anthrax and bubonic plaque viruses. This is now documented in the annals of history, all bringing to mind the 2001 administration.  I love America and its varied nationalities, but its past leaders are the biggest abusers of child-deforming chemicals and radioactive munitions in the world.
The world must know the destitute and suffering of people who never harmed America–people from Iraq and Afghanistan–poor victims of poisoned lands and diseases from carpet bombing raids, and more refugees fleeing from their homes. History proves that the aftermath of war eventually boomerangs back to the perpetrators–blow back retaliation through polluted air and contaminants, what cause cancer and nerve diseases as the four sacred winds circle Earth, with all people affected.
The world must know about deformity-causing Agent Orange herbicide sprayed on American Indian lands, before ton after ton of this US poison was used to annihilate Vietnam and Korea–what also affects children born of soldiers and all forms of life. Millions of surplus barrels were later dumped on Korean lands–why atrociously abused nations destroyed by illegal warfare are defending themselves in retaliation against further annihilation.  How soon we forget.  Humanity has the right to know the truth.
The world must know about secretive industrial war and its corporate federal sources attempting to squelch their own covert atrocities against wishes of the good American people and our grand nation in general. Cyber expert, Aaron Swartze, fought against files and journals not freely available to the public–locked up by profit-making corporative power that is not constitutional and defies freedom of speech. Federal threat of 35 years imprisonment and a $1 million fine for revealing invaluable information for public access caused his suicide in 2013–with increasing numbers of whistle blowers incarcerated instead of the criminals. His tragic death awakened the reality and need of quintessential information to be shared by everyone on the world web.  Whether secrets of censorship are obliterated by fire or by totalitarian forces against knowledge, the truth behind world dissension and uprising, as well as disasters of religionism, must be made known to the people to understand why government aggression and deceit cause terrorism and violence.
The world must know why oceans are rising and polar ice melting from endless explosive wars committed all over the world, accumulative radiation and contamination build up from an endless circle of flame–as well as the fact that seven H-bombs were dropped into oceans with man-made plutonium from uranium now a leaking threat along with lost or damaged nuclear submarines doing the same ecological disasters. Similar leaks are detected on indigenous reservations from cancer-causing nuclear waste dumped on original remaining lands of First Americans where atomic bomb testing took place years ago. These lands next to reservations were condemned as danger zones, as well as ocean islands, all noted in old atlases, similarly as dirty nuclear waste is dumped along shores of Arabic Somalia in Africa–what turned the men into vigilant watch guard pirates to protect their people and land from more devastation in a deadly dump and run policy.
The world must know that lethal droning of innocent people is not rule-of-thumb reporting by newscasters, such as a transport plane that crashed into a drone that ended up sticking out of its wing. Although unpiloted air vehicles are less expensive than all-out war, perhaps they can wean human war heads away from urban battlefields, illegal according to International Law, since they kill civilians and children–what drones also do, unconstitutional defiance of the right of habeas corpus and due process of law. Drones can help humanity, but as killers they are just one more master war machine provoking continual aggression.  Albert Einstein wrote, “It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but the act of murder.”
The world must know the danger of violent, racial video games designed by the military to condition young recruits to kill through becoming adept at manual skills with guns, as video packaging warns,  "These graphics may altar young minds and cause deaths even among domestic civilians"–a fast growing alarming reality.   Unfortunately among the gunslingers many have short fuses, with uncontrollable tempers. Such gun-happy tyrants should not be permitted ammunition.
The same army that programmed Korean and Vietnam combatants to hate and peg Asians as–“slant-eyed, yellow gooks”–to make them easier to kill–cause nightmares that later back-fired in tragic suicide deaths of American soldiers.  I knew one of the first to be discharged from Iraq–a teen-age boy who lost a leg and was blinded.  He took his life shortly after returning home.

“We feel invincible crushing little brown, black and yellow people . . . All we see are little green men running across our screen . . . so we shout and cheer . . . . and reach the next level of the video game we call war . . . We drop bombs like rain leaving scorched Earth and broken dreams . . .  we just react and kill to stay alive.”

WAR–Color It Bloody Red

Dear Ones,

When more nurturing women are elected to government administrations wars will cease as diplomacy and accountable negotiaion increase.

“Simple-minded, good natured men with murderous weapons in their hands . . . will march, freeze, hunger, suffer sickness and die from it, or finally  . . . will be slain by the thousands or kill thousands themselves with no reason; men whom they have never seen before, and who neither have done nor could do them any mischief. . .  and soon the men who reaped profit from it all will assert that since there has been a war there must needs have been one, and that other wars must follow, and they will again prepare future generations for a continuance of slaughter, depraving them from their birth

“There is no safety in war.  I entreat thee for peace.”–Virgil, born in 70 BCE

War is the world's most lethal serial killer  When the first Persian Gulf War broke out in 1990 my husband and I were in a local restaurant. We were in view of the bar with young men watching TV when breaking news interrupted their sports game.  A bone-chilling shout in unison arose with cheer over US carpet bombing and cruise missiles attacking Iraq. My eyes brimmed over with tears envisioning all the soldiers, innocent children and civilians tortured by ravishes of war. I suddenly realized the danger of propaganda. Sadly, some of the celebrating buddies of those in the bar were among 13 members of the 14th Quartermaster detachment killed in an army barracks, with many wounded. A scud missile hit men and women soldiers working on a purification of water project in Saudi Arabia–the foremost American single tragedy during Desert Storm. For the next ten years I was one of the musicians among several fellow fifers and drummers called upon to help memorialize these brave combatants on each February 25th, until my husband and I moved to a new state.
Religious, racial wars must be wiped-off planet Earth, spelled with a capital “E” for respect. Vulgar aggression with cluster bombs, nuclear nose-cone missiles, super bombs and chemical/biological weapons of massive devastation are obsolete, unlawful and in need of demolition. The first weapons of mass destruction began through US and Britain man-made germ warfare–infected blankets from hospitals exposed to smallpox patients. In brief, this genocide was extermination of First American nations. New York journalist John O’Sullivan’s “divine” motto in 1845 to promote devastating Western expansion was euphemised as–“Manifest Destination.” The name “tomahawk” missile is alone condescending to traditionalists forced to defend themselves and their land with primitive weapons against European gun power centuries ago. The original indigenous people are still some of the foremost champions concerned over Earth and its people, especially with a transcontinental oil pile line threatening to run through their original sovereign lands and affecting other Americans as well negatively with Canadian oil refined in ghe US through contaminants and cancerous emissions.
Modern-day germ warfare, gassed millions of children and their parents as the winds of war carried chemical and biological weapons around the world after being shipped to scientists in Iraq, which later was the source for the deaths of Kurds in Iraq and Iranians?  Those in power knew Saddam Hussein was a psychopath and would be blamed, as gassed civilians died immediately–“babies at the breasts of nursing mothers and parents holding their children’s hands, frozen on the spot” from US poisons and helicopters given to Iraqis who sprayed genocidal toxicants all over the people like rain. The exporters, genocidal accomplices, also knew the 1925 Geneva Convention banned such sinister warfare, including incendiary napalm and white phosphorus used on sad victims of Fallujah. The US military bombed Fallujah, Iraq–the Tigris-Euphrates Valley, “Cradle of Civilization–as the Brits also tried to squirm out of the slaughter. The army took over a school for its headquarters as the residents protested. Imbedded journalists were paid to write only what the US permitted–a free-for-all target for massacre, after the Gulf War president heard the “voice of God” telling him to attack and occupy the country, even though a leader of Afhanistan offered to incarcerate Saudi Arabian Osama bin Laden blamed for the US 9-11-01 atrocity and bring him before International Court. Meanwhile, there were a million youths killed in Iraq and Afghanistan streets and in refuge camps with children the first to die from lack of food and water as these nations were fire-bombed as its infrastructure and environment were devastated with barbarity under the leadership of the same. administration. People were torched unmercifully with orphans and refugees crying out, “Mumma” and “Dadda”–suffering from flames of pollution–words of an Iraqi woman who lost her husband and sons even though her nation had no weapons of mass destruction or did no harm to Americans. Unlawful US white phosphorus and napalm jelly, though banned by the United Nations in 1980. No ambulances were allowed to help victims of nuclear nosecones missiles and “depleted” uranium  (DU) causing genetic mutations. deformities and mental retardation–hot pollution aftermath affecting soldiers’ children in America as well. Within these ravishes of war, US tricycles were sent as a good will peace offering. How in any god’s name were little tots supposed to ride over a savagely-bombed city exploded into rough war debris: burning chemicals, broken glass, corpses and carcasses of humans beings and animals alike; sharp tetanus causing nails and spikes; chunks of concrete from bombed out buildings; rotting waste and garbage, and polluted water. Ironically, the wheels from these tricycles ended up on make-shift wheelchairs for the small crippled bodies of the victims. The only full news came from Free Speech TV through courageous broadcast journalists such as Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez as well as Thom Hartmann, all writers of non-fiction books. Al Jazeera also covered these tragedies.
Meanwhile in complex global associations a nation claiming Judeo-Christian privilege has enough nuclear power to blow up the entire planet! Its precious Mesopotamian artifacts and one-of-the-kind invaluable historical scrolls and manuscripts are a loss to the entire world–all for unjust, double standards as dangerous as bombs.  A multitude of world quotes cover this reprehensible act of war. What happened with the Jewish people under the Nazi regime predated the forthcoming atrocities against the Kurdistans (originally Indo-Europeans now states divided among Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria) and the Iranians, all who are still being treated unfairly. As Premiere Jawaharial Nehru (1947-64) of India in prison wrote–“Defensive nationalism turns into aggressive nationalism and a struggle for freedom becomes a struggle to dominate others”–often in the name of messianic ideologies. Excessive patriarchal nationalism, a step away from fascism, the base of radical right wing–might is right, versus Abraham Lincoln’s–right is might., is dangerous when bully, fearful mindsets are in control. For instance, dropping nuclear bombs on Japan was not needed since that nation had previously sent a message that they were ready to surrender. This nuclear test on human beings was the most diabolical horror the United States ever committed–as WWII General Mark Clark admitted the bombs were tested on Japan to justify all the trillions of dollars spent on developing nuclear devastating power.
The US Pentagon, world’s largest office building along with its mighty superpower, was attacked along with New York City’s Twin Tower World Trade Center that tragically fell like a crashed elevator to the ground September 11, 2001, a crime of the worst kind, done without any manufactured nuclear bomb or conventional arsenals of mass destruction. The cause is known and documented but seldom discussed, although singer, pacifist Tony Bennett, WW II draftee into the infantry who fought in the Battle of the Bulge of the Bulge, courageously and discouragingly said the US caused the horrible attack. The entire world saw a message scroll across its TV screens forewarning the US if it doesn’t get its pollutive, leaking military bases out of Saudi Arabia something terrible is going to happen to Washington and New York City. But the 2001 administration, that so lacked negotiation skills and a sense of history, also received a similar message in writing, as it openly ignored it and refused to address the complaint, as the fearful president left the capital city to go to Florida to read a children’s book in a kindergarten class. As a historian I had researched what led up to the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq, calling senators and representatives to ask why. One of the politicians said in astonishment, “You mean it was the Saudis instead of the Iraqis who attacked us in “9-ll!”  The president later admitted his mistake in invading Iraq, sadly commemorated in the phase "911", after four thousands Americans died plus untold numbers from diseases caused by the pollution.
Saddam Hussein himself and even his statue with a US flag wrapped around its head and in a noose symbolically were topple, typical of archaic conquest.  He was no picnic, but those who attacked him were no picnic baskets either, as nations export and import warfare to one another while changing sides with the fickle flick of the flight of a flee as ammunition returns to senders in war fallout and revengeful generational blow back from sons and grandsons remembering "the Fallujah" much like "Remember the Alamo" as history records itself. America’s 9-ll holocaust was followed by vengeance–caused by the original military base vengeance–in more loss of American lives and bombing of millions of people from Irag and Afghanistan that had nothing to do with the disaster! One leader of the latter nation offered to arrest and prosecute the culprit through due process of law and incarcerate him for the atrocity–but the US administration preferred to bomb millions of people under the deceit of bringing one man to justice–even though they would never tolerate foreign bases in America, with the succeeding president having Navy Seals killed Osama bin Laden without total primitive war.
Founding fathers George Washington, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Paine, to name a few, would never condone such high-powered diabolical activity. America the beautiful with good morals has become a monster of war torture and religious-influenced terrorism–not the millions of good people, but through sinister warlord behavior.  Arundati Roy, Indian author, said, “Torture has become privatized . . . but who are these torturers accountable to?”  Besides, sprayed chemical, biological and mustard gas toxicants always boomerang back to the war wagers with sacrificed soldiers handling deadly poisons also poisoned for life.
It’s not the genocidal weapons that kill, it’s the bloody firepower in the ammunition and in the contaminants forced into the atmosphere–spent bullet souvenirs in foreign lands engraved with US. Henry Shrapnel’s deadly cannon ball invention in 1784 continues to be manufactured as deadly bunker, buster bombs, while land and sea mines keep barbarity in the aftermath of war.
Rome fell from military forces spread all across western Europe in foreign camps–too much cost for Pyrrhic wars. Military and drone bases are an extravagant affront, with man’s insatiable greed for natural resources instead of spending research money on alternative means of energy–an offensive act and insult to sovereign, self-respecting nations. Drones are a continuation of religio-totalitarian war, also illegal.  On the other hand and foot, in the long run of history perhaps airplanes with robot minds represent the weaning of people off savage war–instead of millions killed, now less loss of life until man finally realizes absolute might is not right. But this is idealistic thinking, since man will never give up wars unless more nurturing women are elected to administrations of the future. Aggression is absolutely corrupt as it gives power to one man to assassinate, a dangerous strategy that can also boomerang. What makes us happy is loving compassion for others? Everyone loves a lover.
Any tyrannical bully can order production of enough piles of money, sky-high mountains of tanks, cannons and massive macho bases policing the planet–enough to see from outer space–but surprise attack trumps all arsenals.  No amount of gunpowder or power can make any nation safe from the unknown as it boasts as being the most gun and weapons powered nation, policing itself over all other nations. In the game of war, nobody likes a bully. Surprise attack’s force is in its surprise!–why making friends is safer than making enemies. General George Patton, “Old blood and guts,” reputedly killed for his knowledge about US secrets, said–“When you least expect it someone comes up from behind and hits you in the back with a bag of shit!” It came from one of his own army trucks whose driver was reputedly commanded to kill him during the 1945 administration.
General Edward Braddock’s British army of “redcoat colonials” tried to defeat the French headquartered at Fort Duquesne during the 1755 Battle of the Monongahela at Pittsburgh while First Americans aided the French by hiding behind camouflaging trees as they picked off the imported British soldiers in bright uniforms.  It was West Point that studied the indigenous people for their camouflage, stealth and surprise attack defense. (Due to the wisdom of the first residents in the United States defending their sovereign human rights, my hope is for a president in the near future to be a traditionalist indigenous native who represents America’s first spirituality and whose concern is for Earth’s environment instead of bully power,)  When a nation hates another nation for its strong-arming, deceitful arrogant ways, it will always draw firepower, with innocent children dying and maimed for the longest amount of time.
SOLUTION: If only America could reclaim its glory and lend a helping hand instead of a brutal boot. Peace economies preserve life; war economies kill life. The United States or some accountable nation must show the way in turning its war department into a powerful well-paying Peace Department of Defense that enforces laws against aggression. If it would train well its brave uniformed service forces as medics and aides on the home front it could help in greater numbers victims caused by nature’s increased calamities. Its leaders, instead of being afflicted with war paranoia from inner weakness and fear, could be strong powerful patterns to follow as other nations would soon follow suit in the pursuit of international harmony. All youths could remain in their homelands with their spouses to raise their children instead of losing their lives and being handicapped from foreign wars for life–what Washington and Madison warned against.
The time is ripe for harvesting spring harmony instead of bombs. The competition could be brains–intelligent contests–that could produce the best professional arbitrators to settle world problems through diplomacy, communication and serious rhetoric for equal justice for all, with teachers and students involved in similar debates in schools as they, too, learned what laws and their enforcement was all about. As Winston Churchill advised, “More jaw, jaw instead of war, war!”–as we add "more ear, ear" to his words of wisdom. Why aren’t international administrations prosecuted. Those armed out of fear with futile nuclear genocidal exterminators threaten with satanical nuclear bombs and radioactive missiles affecting the world at large.  If these monstrosities were used in a world holocaust, international environment and its people would go up in toxic flames and fumes smothering forms of life–WW III, with no intelligence left behind to record the religio-political holocaust of smoke and ashes. Annihilation of sports' warfare could come true–all rained out due to nuclear fallout.
Today cyber wars are the new criminals on the world’s streets. They are the worst problems on the horizon that need to have immediate attention since internet technology in demoniac hands can do more damage than nuclear high-powered weaponry ready for museums.  But this can not be done in secrecy to keep the public uniformed. Whistle-blowers are now Earth's vanguards. Instead of keeping the people ignorant they provide invaluable news by alerting the populace to fraud and paranoid over indulgence.  No one likes to be dumbed-down by misdirected force.
It’s time for a vote–a world vote of Earth’s people, instead of dictators, oligarchies, plutocrats and corporate false democracies running a roulette game of war against the cries and will of the people detesting wars. All primitive nations believed they were the chosen ones. We are all chosen–one undivided people on Earth whose main goal is to prevent us from killing each other! We are our own worst enemies. So little time is left in each of our lives for happiness versus unnecessary grief–the definition of war. Jamie Kellner, Chairman and CEO of Turner Broadcasting System (when I met him), and its founder Ted Turner, also founder of CNN, expressed similar ideals concerning racism and wars.  Turner said, “It’s time to put world conflict behind us and move on, and start acting like civilized, educated human beings”–especially since the alarming increase of soldiers committing suicide is an alarming  sign of how ferocious wars really are–young people sacrificed for fighting old-men wars pushed to the brink of taking their own lives. When urban wars make carnage out of youths all over the world, they become Trojan Horses within–self-inflicted deaths of our most precious treasures–lives of young people in return for spoils of war–oil, uranium, power and control. It’s time to quit the suicide race. Give up the hobbyhorse, man’s endless rocking-Earth pursuit of death on a merry-go-round whirlwind with victors also the victims. Racist “God made me do it” war is a dinosaur left over from the sacrificial past as it eats the hearts out of all war-torn youths, as archaic as pedophile churches preaching everyone is going to burn in hell's fire except members of one absolutist belief system! Sadly, America’s worst serial crime is attacking defenseless nations of defenseless people, especially children–a bloody religio-political ongoing atrocity that is run by vampire corporations bloodsucking on the corpses of the world’s youths.
Albert Einstien stated, "Killing under the cloak of war is murder!" Who is more imbued with real intelligence and compassion–Einstein or a corporately controlled government committing unlawful genocidal wars by sacrificing youths to die and be maimed for life and babies born deformed?  What parent in shock and awe wants to see their baby having eyes resembling Cyclops, missing arms and legs and other monstrous deformities from illegal bio/chemical poisons. And who wants to die from cancerous Agent Orange originally sprayed on First American reservations and later on Vietnam and Korea where hundreds of barrels are now leaking birth-defective contaminants.

“A hundred teen-age boys picked out of mud, zipped into plastic bags and air-mailed home to Mom . . . comrades bones unburied . . . one hundred thousands tons of TNT vaporized Vietnam cities, their forests defoliated, farmland poisoned forever, ditches full of screaming children . . . land once green and graceful . . . charred and gutted–not even a bird would sing there again. . . . If we ever thought of the wreckage of our unnatural acts, we would never sleep again without dreaming a rain of fire.”
