MR. FRED ROGERS STILL INSPIRES CHILDREN IN HIS NEIGHBOORHOOD–NOW THE WORLD

My husband and I never had any social or disciplinary problems with our five children. Years ago a young man from Latrobe, PA, near where we live, asked for funding of his TV show for kids.  The committee members asked him, "What makes you think children will listen to you?" And he told them.  Our children grew up eagerly anticipating for his show to come on each day.

Dear Ones,

At his memorial building his four and a half hour interview is available for viewing in memory of  Fred McFeely Rogers (1928-2003) when he was starting out on his career. His goal was to educate children in a simple way, not in a commercial way, to reach and teach them at their own level.

This documented interview would help young people world-wide if it were broadcast again, or at least frequently along with repeating his original show.  The Obama Administration's goal is to go after the root cause of youths being recruiting for terrorist organizations committing widespread destrution and chaos.

Today's adults as well as children would benefit tremendously from hearing again this former television show.  Young people are thirsting to have some direction and a sense of feeling good about themselves.  Creator and producer of his Fred Rogers Show he did this with great success.

Unfortunately for us all bully gangs have become thugs of vicious gun crimes exporting hatred and cruelty to people and animals in subhuman ways–extremist religious terrorism. This entrepreneur instead taught children to love themselves, their neighbors and stay happy.  He was a vegetarian and said, "I can't eat any thing that has a mother." Also, despite rumors, he was never in the military.

When Mr, Rogers walked through the studio door and pulled on his famous sweater and sneakers he sat down to converse with the children, a show that eventually reached the entire world. He drew youths  right to him with his soft-spoken voice to hold their attention. At the end of each program and field trip to a bakeshops or music store he told the children, "I'm going now, but I'll see you tomorrow."  Many parents shared the fact that the kids immediately said, "Oh please, please Mr. Rogers, don't go!"  Friends, it doesn't get any better than that!

Years ago when wayward teenagers illegally drove off with an automobile, the police found a note on the steering wheel.  "Dear Mr, Rogers, if we had known this car was yours we would never have stolen it."

What we learn when we're young stays with us our entire lives–good or bad.  Fred Rogers inspired us all.  He set the pattern for millions of lives in a positive way.
