Dear Ones,
First of all, if we really love Earth, our only universal home that provides us with our sole nourishment and energy, then we must capitalize our precious home, as all the other planets get this respect. Secondly, we must think before we continue to smother Earth in contaminates and plastic. Begin with something easy–a simple plastic straw. What did people do before they had them? Is it really necessary to suck up water or in fact any beverage through plastic made from toxic chemicals?
Follow me through my recent experiment when a fast food waitress brought me a straw for my glass of water. I didn't ask for one and never picked it up from the table–untouched–no human hands– straight from the assembly line where it was completely sealed in a cover for sanitation. I asked her, "Since I didn't open this straw, would you throw it out or put it back in the container it came from? She told me, "I'd throw it out." I asked why. "Because it wouldn't be sterile–it was on the table. Besides that's our policy."
This may be the straw that broke the camel's back–Mother Earth overladen with needless plastic. After I thanked her for her information and she left the table where my husband and I were sitting, I looked around at the same table and observed plastic salt & pepper shakers and bottles of ketchup, hot sauce and other condiments that the public touches, often with unwashed hands. I have no problem with this. These unwrapped conataminated objects haven't hurt anyone so far, or as far as I know. Meanwhile, millions of unused and used plastic straws keep piling up in garbage landfills in our dump & run world society.
Now the story doesn't end without a solution. It's our choice whether we want to use a straw or not, but if we choose not to to do so, how can the Department of Energy justify thowing out unused protected straws with other items touched by kids and adults alike–all acovered with fingerprints. However, we can be smarter than nonsensical government regulations by taking care of probems in our own way.
We can solve this mountain of a problem by saying to those serving us, "Please bring me a glass of water but no straw." Then, you can bring the problem to the attention of the management regarding environmental waste. And to the restaurant's advantage, it can now be advertised as an evvironmental conscious establishment, that will bring in more money–the bottom line. The power is in each one of our hands. It's just a fraction of the big picture that needs to be remedied, but at least it's something each one of us can do easily. It's a universal start to help through free education and reasonable policies of our own making.

BRAVE COMBAT SOLDIERS
Dear Ones,
Brave combat soldiers suffer from gross affects of war. War is the most corrupt serial crime in the world. Illicit lethal munitions like depleted radioactive uranium (DU) violate International Law by aborting and deforming soldiers' infants and Earth that nourishes all life. Do we really want future generations inflicted with heart-breaking birth defects and life-long crippling diseases from deadly aggression? The world will always need the assistance of service forces from accumulative war explosive, toxic climate control freaking out weather making each nation more vulnerable than ever before with drastic emergencies. Natures' disasters are now tripled with the addition of increasing man-made disasters putting Earth on the brink of holocausts and disaster, with war causing earthquakes that provoke enough heat to erupt volcanoes and in turn tsunamies.
There never was a good war and never will be since bullets stamped with US on them are made from nuclear waste that causes birth defects–insidious way to dispose of deadly material, moving it from US to foreign sites. Ammo and other high-powered weapons shoot holes through tanks and contaminate seas, land and air. Call a world moratorium on wars that train youths to kill other youths as young minds are blasted by poisonous explosions causing brain damage, mentally and physically. Enforce, with no exceptions, International Law that already outlaws munitions provoking birth defects and urban battle zones where children are killed.
War depression is often treated with chemical medication causing even more trouble. No wonder suicide is overwhelmingly prevalent among combat soldiers and those caught in cross-fire that kills noncombatants and children as well as warriors. What else can we expect?

A PEACE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC
Dear Ones,
More women
and gays need to be elected to powerful government administrations' –those who are nurturing and interested in the fine arts instead of brutal aggression,. Until this transformation occurs, peace is a
long time a comin' as we yearn for the times when our hearts were young and
gay,
Mame

Mine eyes have seen the misr'y of the wars of the world,
They are tramplin' through the vineyards where the
grapes of wrath are stored.
We have seen the fatal lightnin' of war's terrible
swift sword.
Huzzah! Peace is marching on.
Chorus
Glory, glory Earth and peace; glory, glory Earth and
peace;
Glory, glory Earth and peace; and universal love.
From the watch fires of the many circlin' camps are
acts uncouth,
Men have builted war an altar with the blood of its
own youth;
Let us strive to see the glory in what we must know is
truth.
Huzzah!
Peace is marching on.
Men have writ a fiery gospel, burnished rows of steel
and tanks,
That have fueled a vengeful fire with all its cruel
pranks,
Crushing wrongs with justice brings much more then lasting truth.
Huzzah! Peace is marching on.
They have sounded forth the trumpet that shall never
call retreat;
It is sifting out the hearts of man in battlefields
of heat.
Oh, be swift my soul to call for peace Be jubilant my feet.
Huzzah! Peace is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies peace will come and make
us free;
With a glory in our bosoms that transfigures you and
me,
As we cease to send our youths to die, let us live to
make them free.
Huzzah! Peace is marching on.
Peace is coming like the glory of a morning sea's
bright wave,
With its wisdom strong and mighty make all of us be
brave,
To stop the pow'r of war, let's not be its fett'red
slave.
Huzzah! Peace is marching on.

RINGMASTERS OF OUR OWN THREE RING CIRCUSES
Dear Ones,
We're all ring masters of our own three ring circuses–our own powerful souls. Encircle each in twinkle lights and let them shine. Love and peace equal happiness. This triple ring formula is as important as Einstein's theory of relativity–E=MC2. Your own alternative energy is renewable and free!

OUR DESTINY It's About Time!
Dear Ones,
Today I'm reminded of a book I read as a child. As Louisa May Alcott wrote in Jo's
Boys,
"It was curious to see the prejudices melting as
ignorance was enlightened, indifference change to interest and intelligent
minds set thinking."

OUR DESTINY
It's About Time!

Wisdom-keepers say we must know the cause to
understand the effect
Claiming we must not follow time too close to its
heel.
They tell us we must take time to analyze the past.
But what if there is no more time?
Time after time, religious terrorists
Making all time run out,
And with no time left.
But a time bomb
Man-made/
.
Tick
.
Tick
.
Tick
.
Unless
Perhaps
Biased
absolutist
Hierarchies in continuous,
Turf wars of death and suffering,
In a triangular ring of fire for centuries,
Call of the dogs of aggressive atrocities.
To gain power, land, resources and proselytes.
It's about time to rise above law-religions' greed
Without the most evil curse of loose cannons keeping
Earth hostage, psychologically threatening
non-believers with
Burning eternally in hell for not subscribing to one
political persuasion
Who needs Inquisitional abusive persecution, murder,
violence and terror?
Our universal inherent destiny is our choice, without
condemnation or constant damnation.

DEJA VU (LOVE SONG LYRICS FOR DRAMA-NOVEL MOVIE)
Dear Ones,
True love is a merry-go-round, what makes Earth go around, a many splendered thing as the song birds sing.

DEJA VUE
Helene Smith, copyright 2004
The moment I looked into your eyes
I knew we had loved before.
Your infectious laughter, how could I forget
The memory of your twinkling smile.
Your sweet soul blended with mine,
Passion that will never die,
The light of my life, my constant mate,
My eternal sigh.
CHORUS
The love of centuries still haunts me so,
Somewhere, some place, in space and time,
Like shadow mountains and rolling seas,
I see your face wherever I go.
Deja vue. Deja vue. It all comes back to me.
Deja vue, how I love you so.
(Runner-up for Achievement in Poetry Award, Eber and Wein Publishing)
These lyrics were written for my drama, Where Eagles Fly–about homeless
veterans of foreign wars. The written music for the theme song and script for my drama
is ready for book/movie production. Setting takes place in Jacksonville, FL, the largest city in the
United States, area wise. The play involves romance, mystery, a nudist camp, creativity, the
solving of a dug crime and imagination in helping those who have lost their homes to bank
foreclosures, unemployment and other social failures. Trapeze, an ex-circus acrobat,
provides comical relief for an imaginative fantasy of small cottages within ovely gardens all
maintained by the owners from the streets who now recycle everything for a profit.
Cherokee's dogs, Search and Destroy, also provide great for entertainment.
The scene opens on a remote Altancic Ocean beach bordering a woodlands nudest colony. Four
men are playing cards as they look up from time to time admiring some of the passing bathers. One
of the nudist card players is wearing nothing but a hat and a huge emerald ring. His back is turned
toward the photographer; His face is not seen.

HUMAN BEANS
Dear Ones,
We are all chosen peoples because we are here on Earth.
Mame
HUMAN BEANS
We are human beans, exraordinarily so.
Scientists espouse we are all connected by threads,
String beans united in a universal web.
Where the sky beds down with the sea,
And mountains like gigantic picture puzzles,
Merge with the clouds on high.
Total life–human, animal and plant–
We are linked at the same level,
In a big pot of vegetable stew,
A sacred brew all in one.
Nature and man–short for human–
Beans we are–perhaps a spark of the divine.
Not owning beautiful Earth,
But Earth instead owning us,
As we return to our birth mother,
Her loving arms like swaying branches,
Claiming us for her very own.
Immortality–said Socrates
Is for every soul, so know thyself, thy own destiny.
Not held in reserve for the special few,
Who pay homage to absolutist exclusivity,
But for all human beans,
From under a white blanket of snow,
In the nostalgia of past melting springs,
Produce pale blossoms, fragrant and new,
Palms and soles of our feet, all the same hue
Human beans start over again, a little smarter than before,
To begin an endless cycle all over again.
We are all chosen peoples because we are here on Earth.
