NEW YORK TIMES DESCRIBES BEACON, N.Y. HOTTEST COMMUNITY FOR CONTEMPORARY ART IN HUDSON VALLEY

DIA, one of world's largest modern art museums, is particularly interesting housed in a huge former  National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) printing factory. Beacon also features a nineteenth century three-story remodeled firehouse that displays outstanding specialty pieces at Hudson Beach Glass  162 Main St.  Christmas balls and even glass jewelry are its specialty items.

All glass is blown or molded by numerous outstanding artists of the nation. Its art gallery on the second floor is now exhibiting artist Mark Peterson's renditions of the 2016 presidential candidates in a "Political Theatre."
