JOHN L. O'SULLIVAN (1837-1846) COINED THE TERM MANIFEST DESTINY, MASS GENOCIDE AGAINST FIRST AMERICANS

This Protestant editor-columnist of the Democratic Review called for a halt to criticism of United States annexation policy. Evidently he didn't believe in free speech. He referred to the term Providence, an early American word for "God."  O'Sullivan believed in a deity that chose America to be first in domination.  He used the word Providence to confirm expansionist fever in the nation.  O'Sullivan defended U.S. political religion. This Christian nationalism supported a plot to annex Texas. To him everything came under the "will of God."  He thought Jesus of Nazareth was a political savior.  Even in recent years G.W. Bush heard a voice in his head saying invade, attack and occupy Iraq in 2003,
