The United States founding fathers wrote into the Constitution a provision that no one religion can dominate the nation. Great leaders such as Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison and Benjamin Franklin were adamant about keeping the nose of the chaotic sectarian camel out of the tent of justice and freedom,

This fact is quintessential. America is a unique country founded by colonists who broke their shackles from being captives of dangerous rival dogma through a bloody revolution against evangelical imperialism. They insisted that church and state must be separated by a wall.
The Pauline torturous Inquisition came under an absolutist law religion for eons of time, committed by fanatics attempting to force one faith on the world. It took centuries to rinse the criminality out of this system. Now fanatical religious Muslims are repeating the path of folly as the Crusaders did. Let's hope that sane Muslim leaders will restrain their own own radical members who have become criminals, who are now contained, with the tail not wagging a mad dog.
Thank God America is a free land of thousands of faiths, the practice of which is imbued in equality. What makes the United States great.
