THE BLUE GOOSE IS NO SPRUCE GOOSE OF HOWARD HUGHs

The only reason for knowing about the Spruce Goose is having a delightful lunch there with my family in St. Marys, Georgia, the second oldest city in the United States.

Not only is it an inviting, cozy cafe looking out on the street of the historic area, but it is the epitome of recycling, the way of the future that is now here.  Besides offerig good wine and coffee the two women hosts want to reduce the human footprint that's all about irresponsible waste on the wastelands of America the beautiful, marred by lazy, uncaring man's ways–like throwing trash out of car windows.

Dear Ones,

These two innovators not only recycle beer and wine bottles but even the crates they come in.  I bought a fragrant candle in one of the geenn wine bottles, not sawed off evenly as they usually are,  but following the jagged edges of the original fractures, sanded for safety.  Their items mostly are purchaded in the good old U.S.A.  The candles are not your ordinary ones but are instead made of soy wax. They purchase all their fruits and vegetables from the local farmer's market down the street on the warf of the St. Marys River leading to Commerland Island a great natural, national seacoast of white sand where turtles are protected.

Now comes the good news for those liking to bike along nature's trails.  The owners also have a new Blue Goose in Inwinton in an 1847 farn house–the first bike hostel- coffee shop in Georgia.

It always is a delight to promote good things by good people, whether you know them or not.
