Race and religion have caused wars since Bible times and before, as witness th ze three Abrahamic rings of fire still at odds with one another. We can rise beyond these holocaustic atrocities.

BEYOND
Beyond gray billowing archaic
Clouds of man-made wars of revenge,
Beyond Earth's right horizon of the sun,
Not one biased, absolutist deity,
Or phony race of segregation,
Instead universal reason or spirituality.
Beyond lies wisdom beyond our ken,
Beyond no youths sacrificed in barbarity,
No savagery empowered,
With hatred and aggression.
O then, only then, will men goosestep
Back into ancient times,
Flags of empire waving for killing,
Soon
become rags in the wind,
Raise instead the flag of peace.
Beyond lies freedom–food for all,
let the pursuit of happiness begin.
"War loves to seek its victors in the
young."–Sophocles
"No man whose vision is bounded by color can come
into contact with what is highest and best in the world . . . . few things, if
any, are capable of making one so
blind and narrow as race prejudice . . . . I pity from the bottom of my heart
any individual who is so unfortunate as to get into the habit of holding race
prejudice."
–Booker T. Washington
