Word "ideology" is a euphemism used instead of political religion to cover up endless religious wars lasting for centuries to the present time, such as the 30 year wars between Catholics and Protestants, what also went on in Ireland for eons of time.
Muslims are angry in general with pent up hatred over Crusaders taking over their land and desecrating their holy sites in the Middle East. Crusaders are now killing gays in Nigeria, fueled by archaic authors three thousand years ago in B.C.E.
There is reason for Muslims to use the word "Crusader." They have not forgotten the bloody Crusades whose proselytes attacked Jews and Muslims. American youths, uneducated about world history, unfortunately only hear ecclesiastics preaching day in and day out that their religion is the best and absolute one. Absolutism corrupts absolutely any persuasion that is arrogant enough to proclaim what the maker over the universe would never do to his or her Earthlings, as fundamentalists say, "In God's name."
